Preserve Indigenous Knowledge

We celebrate our past and honor the wisdom and values that enabled us to be here, now and also able to look at the future.

The rapid loss of important knowledge

Anita Roddick said that the manner in which we are destroying indigenous people and their cultures is similar to going around the world burning down vast libraries that contain all our wisdom.

The problem with most indigenous knowledge is that it is not always recorded nor taught in traditional linear academic format. It is therefore very difficult to retain all of it or preserve it in traditional written format.

Another problem is that the young generations desire to be part of the modern world, and abandon their inherited knowledge completely as they think it is inferior to what they encounter in developed countries, frequently because they are being taught so through modern and other media.

Demonstrate value of abstract knowledge, and people will preserve it

We believe that knowledge will only be protected and utilized if it can be shown to generate modern value and values. If indigenous communities cannot earn money and wealth from such knowledge, they will have no choice but to abandon it to enable themselves to participate in the global economy and technological progress.

Contribution and objective of miPATH

We are convinced that there is much value in indigenous knowledge that can be applied towards the development of human potential. Furthermore, such knowledge can be applied and generate value within a high technology and connected society and world.

The objective of miPATH is therefore to demonstrate how to apply such abstract knowledge in the hope that it shows the way to communities and to the next generation who will continue to investigate the opportunities of their own diverse perspectives and knowledge so that they are active and influential participants who contribute to a positive and hopeful future for us all.

Invitation to indigenous communities

We welcome the opportunity to work with communities and demonstrate to them how miPATH was developed, where our inspiration comes from and how we provide a structured framework where communities can adapt and shape their own knowledge inside the miPATH framework or develop their own unique programs for leadership and personal enrichment and growth.
